U.S. Renal Care Completes Acquisition of Ambulatory Services of America
08/12/2013
Plano, TX – U.S. Renal Care, Inc. (USRC) announced today that it has closed on its acquisition of Ambulatory Services of America, Inc. (ASA), a leading provider of kidney dialysis and other health services. With the acquisition, USRC will serve approximately 14,000 patients through more than 200 outpatient, home and specialty dialysis programs in 19 states and the Territory of Guam.
“Doubling the size of U.S. Renal Care means both greater access for patients and greater operational efficiency,” said Chris Brengard, Chief Executive Officer of USRC. “We could not have chosen a better partner than ASA, given our mutual commitment to personal, professional dialysis care and our emphasis on physician-led facilities. We look forward to the future and to providing the highest-quality care to more patients in more locations.”
USRC will assume responsibility for Innovative Dialysis Systems (Innovative Dialysis), ASA’s Long Beach-based business unit, which operated 79 dialysis centers in 13 states and the Territory of Guam.
Brengard said USRC would continue to put patients first. “We are dedicated to providing individualized care to each and every patient, and that will not change,” he said. “With USRC, patients are always at the center of their care.”
Prior to this transaction, ASA also operated 17 radiation oncology centers in five states through its subsidiary Radiation Oncology Services of America, Inc. (ROSA). USRC has entered into a definitive agreement with Vantage Oncology, LLC, a leading provider in the field, for Vantage to purchase the ROSA oncology centers.
